oh hey, there you are. Sorry I have been MIA.

What have I been up to? Why have I been away from y'all? Well... I did makeup for a wedding last weekend. This girl's to be exact. And 90 % of the gorgeous bridal party.

It's really not fair how beautiful Miss Ashley is. She looked incredible.

I also spent Friday night at work happy hour. We celebrating the big 4-0 of one of my co-workers. I made sis join as well.

This week I have been cursing one hot glue gun burn at a time whilst preparing for a bridal shower we are throwing this weekend. Sadie has been quite attentive.

And tonight I will be preparing for my interview with Sir Perez Hilton, that is scheduled for TOMORROW! It is part of the Live Famously campaign I have been helping promote. You might remember it from here.

Any idea WHAT in the world I should ask him????

If we actually get on this show, I will crack UP. I am not sure if they are ready for us... but here is to hoping!

Pugs love HUGS! Valentine's Day pug party recap...

That's right.

This weekend Sadie and I attended a pug party at Incredipet.

Sadie's sister Maggie Davis, and her cousin Champ, also went with us. I would like to give Maggie Davis the best dressed award, she really put the extra effort in with the pearls, and her magnificent flower accessory.

Sadie can be seen sporting her pink fur coat, complete with her bbsimon swarovski collar.

There were refreshments for all two, and four legged attendees.

Games, and pug pandemonium ensued. Sadie dominated finding all traces of food first. #fatty.

It was clearly a family affair. Me and my cousins Lucy and Ginny, with their pugs Maggie and Champ.

This next litte, err... not so little pug was my favorite. Her name was Baby, and I am pretty sure she was pushing 35 pounds. Laurel could barely hold her! Hilarious. I wanted to pugnap her, and sneak out with her in my purse, but I am not sure she would have fit.

It was a snortfest. for sure.

And no, that is not a cocktail in that blue solo cup, it is water people! Aside from popular belief, I can attend functions sans bevie. haha

If that doesn't just make you SMILE on the Valentine's Day, then I don't know what will. Happy Valentine's day loves! xoxo

Carrie was sporting some verrry long lashes. She is Carrie, she can do anything she wants. I loved everything about her look. The dress, the hair, her signature gorgeous makeup. She can do no wrong IMHO. DON's got the deets on her amaze dress.

Why is she just the cutest thing in the whole world? I mean really, stop it.

Can't wait for her new single, Good Girl, out on the 23rd!!

Babies, babies, BABIES! And they need our help.

A few days ago I posted about sweet baby Abby, who has a very rare disease, so rare only FOUR people have it.

This is just the most amazing part- Heather, a fellow blogger contact me about wanting to do a giveaway for a good cause, and told me she wanted to help little baby Abby. My heart was so touched. Heather is doing a giveaway, where ever dollar you donate, is an entry in her giveaway! It is truly the sweetest thing I have ever been a part of. Please please check out the wonderful, informational, and super touching post she did on baby Abby HERE! So so sweet. There were over $300 in donations on the FIRST day!! Also, in more baby news, my cousin Jessica had an emergency c-section two days ago, at 25 weeks.

My cousin Jess, and her hubby Grant.

If you were reading last year, Jess may look familiar from this post, when her mother passed away.

Well Jessica, Grant, and sweet baby girl Elise need our prayers again.

I don't know all the details of why the c-section happened, but I do know that it was absolutely necessary, for mommy and baby.

Elise was born weighing 1 lb, 4 oz. Her apgar scores were good, so that is very encouraging. She has been a little fighter, and each new day brings new news.

She is just a little miracle.

Please pray for sweet baby girl's health, for excellent doctors and nurses, and for peace for my cousin Jessica and Grant, & their families. I cannot imagine how hard this is on them, but I do know how strong Jessica is, and I know she is being the best mommy in the world, just like her momma :)

Diet and Exercise. Wait... WHAT?

When I put my mind to something, I usually do it. Right now that something happens to be getting in tip top shape for my friend Ashley's wedding in June. We are wearing these gorgeous blush colored, super flowing dresses, and lets just say it will look a LOT better on yours truly if I could just step on the scale, write that number down, subtract fifteen, and then weigh that.

So yes, I am watching what I eat, and I am flirting with the idea of getting back in the gym, and pure barre. ;)

I am a weight watchers girl at heart.

WHY? Because it is easy, and it works for me. Follow me here, I find it provides structure AND flexibility.

So what is on my must haves list? I am sort of a creature of habit, It's my thing, let it go. I also don’t have a lot of time, so quick and easy options are what I lean towards.

I LOVE yoplait light yogurt, specifically white chocolate strawberry, but any in the family of strawberry will do. Pair that with a 100 calorie english muffin, boom, breakfast.

Lunch and dinner I have been eating lean cuisines, with a salad, or chicken with fresh veggies. Sometimes I will get Subway or Jimmy Johns. GUILTY. ;)

{sidenote, I am aware that there are tons of preservatives in frozen foods, but hey, they are easy. If you wanna come cook me fresh organic meals, be my guest. I promise I will welcome it}

For snacks, I eat a lot of fresh fruit. Oh yeah and I am addicted to the skinny cow candies. Ummm, hello heaven.

And then, because I just can't let it go… I have to have mac n cheese, or spaghettio's once a week. Preferably in these shapes.

I have also been drinking mucho water. Let's get serious, diet coke ain't exactly beauty elixir knowwhatimsayin? I also am cutting down the cocktail cals but sticking with my signature, vodka and soda. Mmmmm.

Throw in a lime or two and you have one happy PLL.

As far as working out goes, well, I need to do that.

Yup.

another one bites the dust.

I am on my 7th iPhone y'all. SEVENTH. I exaggerate not.

iPhones all tend to meet the same fate while in my possession. Sometimes it's the toilet. Sometimes they get run over. Or sometimes they just jump out of my hands.

Grrrr.

I am not a happy camper right now. I had high hopes to hold out until the new iPhone5 came out, but it appears I am gonna have to go ahead and get a new one now. Bogus.

I think I am gonna go with the white. Why not?

In other news, I got low lights.

Like 5 of them. HA. SEEEE?!

Brittney and I discussed that it may help with my situation, which is actually doing a lot better. It was just that one little spot, so I have no idea what happened. Anyhoo, she assured me that all of my baby hairs were doing just fine.

And yes, if you happened to notice, I do have a little braid hidden in the messy updo today. It's fun right? I just braided a little section before I put it up, and then pinned it back when I put my hair in a ponytail.

Easy enough :)

A girl should be two things...

Classy and Fabulous!

At least that is what my wall says, see??

I got this custom made for my bedroom from Lauren at Ten23 Designs. She was able to use both of my signature fonts, which I absolutely ADORE! It really could not have turned out better.

It is pretty much perfection. I love having it above my makeup table, it gives my little area a little extra punch of girly, don't ya think?

Let's take a little tour of le boudoir de LouLou, shall we?

So here is where I get ready. I have everything I need at my fingertips. It's my little PLL salon if you will. We take appointments ;)

I don't have TONS of space in my room, so I have to make the best use of it that I can. I keep all of my hair products, rollers, and brushes in the cabinet on the right of my makeup table, and then I keep headbands on the little pedestal that is on the left! It is great storage, and also allows me to display my cute headbands.

I keep necklaces, and scarves behind my bedroom door. If I don't see it, I forget I have it, so I like to keep things out, but orderly.

I keep the good jewelry in my Pottery Barn jewelry box on my dresser... here is a post I did on how I stay organized (jewelry, makeup etc.)

I love pictures, and have them scattered all around my room.

I'd say my style is super girly, obvi. All the bedding, and the curtains, are from Target, the Simply Shabby Chic line. Love love.

Sadie is also a Target, Simply Shabby Chic girl. Duh.

I am still working on things, like that ginormous area above my bed that has NOTHING. haha. I am thinking perhaps one of these Southern Proper monograms.

Hey girls!

So of course, I did NOT miss Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler's 1 hour jamfest on CMT's Crossroads last night. Girlfriend looked smokin' hot as usual. She is sporting her long hair, and it looks fabulous. It appears I am gonna need to invest in some super long weave to keep up. Also, she must be drinking that leg shine juice, because her gams stole the show.

I LOVED her outfit. I have been in the market for sequin shorts ever since new years, but this just made me want them ever more. Holy hotness Carrie.

I just wanna know when pugs became so trendy? I mean I LOVE it, but seriously they are everywhere! And pug people are a special breed. Like we have pug parties. No lie.

I'm a momma this week. Word. ;) We had a "pug and uggs" themed Sunday yesterday. Sadie was thrilled as you can tell.

I can't even tell you the hysterical things that have come out of these girls mouths. Most thoughts pertain to my hair, especially my need for highlights, or my lack of a husband and children.

I mean you can't help but laugh. Love them so much.

On another SERIOUS note, my little sister's good friend and her family need our prayers and HELP!

Let's get one thing straight, pink is my favorite color. Wipe that surprised look off your face.

But I probably have 2 pink clothing items, it's just not something I wear often. Recently I have become increasingly aware that I am in a color rut.

It's chronic, and severe.

Lexington Girls: New Nail Salon!

Hey girls! It's Friday, and I know mani's and pedi's are great weekend activities, so I feel it necessary to let you know about my new favorite nail salon!

I use to be a SpaNails girl, I mean common, they serve free wine. HELLO genius.

But I discovered Aphrodite Nail Spa through a friend, and I LOVE it!

It is brand new, located in Hamburg- kinda by Smashing Tomato, and it it SO pretty and clean.

Also, all services are currently 20% off. I got a phenomenal pedi for $24! I kid you not my pedi lasted an hour and a half. It was amazing!

And don't worry, Chrissy and I took our own bevies of choice. ;)

Yup. Not kiddin'.

HANAair Hair Dryer from Misikko

Hello ladies.

Let's have some more hair chat, shall we?

A few months ago, Misikko sent me the HANAair hair dryer to try out. I wanted to give it a thorough trial period, before I let you guys know what I think, ya know, give ya the honest 411.

Well, report card time people

I love it.

Absolutely love it.

It came packaged up with tons of goodies, kinda like Christmas.

Why is this hair dryer so great you ask?

I found that this hair dryer dries my hair super fast, so I spend less time exposing my precious baby hair to heat. Also, I love the cool button, you can easily click it on or off for instant cold shots for setting etc.

{that is a super bonus for those of us girls that are 900 degrees all the time;) }

It also helps make my hair super smooth and silky, something with the ION technology. IONO girls.

In my opinion, It is really important to have quality hair care products. I mean, you are using them every day, and we all know of my recent hair situation, HA. I have become extra aware of what I am putting on my hair, and what heat products I am using to style my hair.

I am in the market for a new straightener, I really want one with a heat setting, so I don't have to use a super high intensity one. Misikko also sells a bunch of high quality straighteners, and I currently have my eye on the croc infrared flat Iron.

ALSO...

you girls told me I needed to get Moroccan Oil. And you were right, of course ;)

I have been using it, a teeny tiny amount (remember, fine thin hair here) and I have already noticed a substantial difference in my hairs texture.

Highly recommend :) Now go forth, and be a hair goddess.

I've recently found myself making up errands, just so I can drive her.

Wait… she COOKS?!

Don't get too excited. It's nothing fancy. And NO I am not going all domestic on you, but I did want to share this super easy recipe I stole from bis sis.

So yeah, I can make about 4 things.

1. Baked Ziti

2. White Chicken Chili

3. Filet mignon with goat cheese and balsamic glaze (wild card, I know)

Aaaaand Vegetable Soup.

That's about the span of my conquests in the kitchen...yea.

Since it has decided to snow in Lexington, I have decided it is the perfect weekend to make this vegetable soup I am obsessed with.

Let me show you how easy it is. AND it is super healthy :) win/win right?

Recipe:

3 cans V8 juice

3 cans Del Monte diced tomatoes (basil, garlic and oregano kind)

2 cans Del Monte corn

2 cans Del Monte sliced carrots

2 cans Del Monte diced potatoes

1 can Allens seasoned green beans, cut up.

1 lb. stew meat, brown before adding to croc pot.

Drain veggies first, then throw it all in, cook, eat.

EASY people. ;)

Wow, I had NO idea you all were so helpful. Well actually I did, but still, THANK you for all of your comments yesterday! I have stocked up on many a product to fix this hair issue. Also I am laying off the heat. See… I didn't wash it this morning, OR poof it, I just went with it. Ha.

I remember when my dad didn't want a cd player in his car like decades ago cause he liked his cassette tapes. Umm….

Well, I have this brand new car with all these features, and what do I wanna do? Listen to cd's.

My phone bluetooths to my radio, so all of my songs go straight to the car, but I just can't get past wanting to listen to my cds. I think it's because they are easy, and I know them. Anyhoo, I am trying to be hip here and update my playlists so I can make use of this crazy technology. Lawwwd help us all.

SOS- Hair Emergency.

We have a problem.

As I was getting ready this morning I saw it.

THIS.

Ummm scuse, but that piece of hair looks to be about an inch long, and I know Brit Brit ain't cutting my layers that short.

WHY is my hair breaking?? This is not acceptable. I realize I have what's the word… sensitive hair.

It is thin.

It is fine.

And yes I highlight the shizz out of it, but it has never done this… this breaking thing…this is outta control.

MUST.stop.immed.

Now call me crazy, but KNOW I am extremely careful with my hair. I only wash it every other day, I am super gentle with brushing it…I even spend big bucks on the good products.

WHAT GIVES?

My theory? Since I cut it short, I have had to round brush it every time to give ma hairs more body etc. I think it is the heat from the hair dryer, and the round brushing. Also the damn CHI. When I wore my extensions and curled it, I swear it didn't break as much.

Grrrrr.

I don't know what else to do, except to stop using heat products, or stop highlighting it. In which case I'd quit reading this blog immediately because its gonna get real scary up in huuuur.

Seriously though, any tips. HEEEELP.

My pre-teen weekend

That's right, I channeled my inner 12 year old this past weekend.

Sigma Makeup Brushes

Bonjour lovelies.

I was going to show you my bedroom, and my makeup table updates today but that is going to wait because it is not completely finished yet, and I want you to see le boudoir de LouLou in it's entirety.

So let's chat makeup brushes instead.

I asked Santa for the Sigma Synthetic Kabuki set here, and he delivered!

I LOVE them. Obsessed.

My two favorites are the F80 and the F86. So if you only get two, get these two.

The F80 is for all over surface application, and the F86 is for areas around your nose, and eyes. I pump a little foundation on the top of my hand (right now my favorites are Makeup Forever Matte Velvet in 27, and Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NW 25) then dab it on my face and blend it in by stippling it all over with the F80, using the F86 for nose and eye areas. Don't worry, I had to google stipple too at first, ha but it is a great technique I learned a little while ago for flawless foundation.

These brushes seriously make your skin look like it is airbrushed. I kid you not ma ladies. I previously used the elf stipple brush, and it worked pretty well, but I love that the Sigma ones are dense, I find it gives you a lot more control.

They also fit perfectly inside my Trish McEvoy makeup planner, which my friends make fun of to no end. They call it my rolodex. Seriously girls, back up of it ;) you know you want one too! haha.

That's my flawless foundation tip for the day. Get these brushes immed!

She's Baaaack!

Well hey there.

I do believe it has been far too long.

Sorry chics, I went a little MIA on ya.

Truth is I had two weeks off from work, so just kinda got out of the swing of things with Christmas and New Years etc. It was SO nice not having to worry about anything... and sleeping until 10. Now I iz spoiled.

So let's play a little catch up, shall we?

Christmas was wonderful, got to spend time with my amazing family. I love my parents house at Christmas.

As you can see I turned Baby Lou in Cindy Lou Who. HA. Amaze.

Sadie however, was not as eager to embrace her inner Christmas spirit.

But she took one for the team...

Post xmas, post CATS game, and post a few towers of blue moon, I managed to lose my camera in the beer cave of speedway.

Why you ask?

Because Chrissy and I thought it was a superb idea to have a beer cave photo shoot, duh.

Luckily for all of us, the camera is now safely back in my purse.

New Years was great also. I wore a sequin skirt and turtleneck from Arden B, and black pumps from Target. I was just going to a party at Leah's so I kept it simple. Apparently cream coats were the thing to have that night.

Hmmm what else…

oh yeah.

I bought a new car! Woop woop!

It was finally time to retire Jeepie. So I got a brand new little white Jetta! Love her. Her name is Pearl. And yes, I thought she wanted a bow for the pic.

So... now that we are all caught up, I figure we can start fresh with 2012.

Ok so MAYBE I didn't get a marriage proposal, but whatever. Jake is hot, and we all know it.

So much fun last night at the Tin Roof seeing him play! He was awesome, so fun and so GOOD.

We had a booth reserved luckily, so yours truly stood on top of her seat all night drooling over Jake.

And look at this nonsense. My friends know the owners so we were texting them to bring us cases of beer, yes. This is true.

I kept it simple and wore skinnies, jacket and boots.

These Jsimps "Anne" boots. I love them.

I didn't get that many pics because my camera battery died, standard. But luckily I was able to get this fantastic one of me and my future baby daddy. ;)

A bunch of you have asked what is on my Christmas list? Well I will tell you :)

I shockingly can't really think of a ton of stuff to put on here. Usually if I want something I end up buying it for myself haha. But maybe Santa will bring me some of these goodies?

1. Trish McEvoy makeup planner. I have been coveting one of these for some time.

2. Sigma Beauty synthetic kabuki set. I hear these brushes are the bomb.com, especially the foundation ones. Flawless face? I'll have one please...

3. Bath and Body Works Dark Kiss assorted paraphernalia. LOVE this scent, AND it is buy three get three free. That's 100% more FO FREE kids.

4. Lancome Juicy Tubes. Love. My favorite? Fifth Avenue Frosting. It is the PERFECT color to wear by itself. I wear it daily. Only downfall? I can only find it in the gift set size most of the time. Bogus.

5. Candleberry Company candles. My fav. Hot Maple Toddy, Hot Buttered Rolls, and Kentucky Bourbon. They smell up your entire house, people will wonder what you been bakin'... ;)

7. Longchamp tote. Love.

8. Hot pink Mary Janes, also all OVA Pinterest.

9. Old Navy cotton pj pants. Don't know why, but I have become obsessed with these pants. I already have like 7 pairs, but I want more. They are so comfy, and cheap, and don't make me hot at night.

But I have something to tell you.

I cut my hair.

like 4 inches cut my hair.

BAM.

Here's the thing kids, I have been living in denial FAR too long. I have the thinnest, most baby fine hair EVER, I assure you, and despite my constant prayer and numerous frederic fekkai deep conditioning treatments, I am just never gonna have hair like this.

It ain't happening girls. Naturally that is. HA.

It was time to get rid of the mullet I was rockin' and embrace my natural, cute sassy hair. I feel like a new woman. I have my fun little angled cut back. But rest easy, I can still put in one of my many 'weaves' and play the part of a long haired vixen if I feel frisky. I mean let's get serious, this was all fake anyway.

So really, not much has changed except that I can now go out in public with my REAL hair fixed cute and not look like a stringy haired sasquatch.

I feel good about it. If you have hair like mine, sometimes you just have to embrace the truth and own it. My hair already looks and feels ten times healthier. Plus think about it, I bet I'll do some more tutorials for fun short hair looks ;)

Lets try and keep the hate mails to a minimum. Especially you Linda. ;) haha

Makeup.

I haz it.

It's no secret I love makeup. Do I have 67 eyeliner's like Caroline? No, but don't get me started on her issues...

But I do love makeup.

It is so fun to discover new products, and play with different looks.

Amber sent me over a bunch of Avon's Mark collection products and I was super excited to try them all out and let you guys know what I think.

I first noticed the packaging. They get an A+ for branding. I love the simplicity of their design, and their creative names for all of their products. Call me crazy, but I notice these things.

Amber sent me tons of stuff, (thanks Amber!) but I am going to highlight some of my favorites for you.

1. Get a Tint tinted moisturizer.

Love.love.

Granted I won't use this as much in the winter, as I iz way to pale. However in the summer I will use it all the time. It has a light finish, with just enough color to make it perfectly wearable under a powder.

2. Lash All You Want mascara.

Obsessed.

I am picky about mascara, as most people are. If you like full fluffy brushes, this probably isn't the one for you. This brush has the stiff plastic-y bristles, which I think are perfect for separating and lengthening. It just totally depends on the look you are going for, and what kind of brush you like. I like how the wand has bristles on the tip, to get the tinniest of baby lashes. Also, I get mascara everywhere, but this wand made it easy for me to avoid getting mascara all of my eyelids, especially in the car. Pretend you didn't hear that.

Boom, hey there lashes.

3. Eye shadow/Lip gloss compact.

This thing is so cool, it flips. One side is eyeshadow, other side is lip gloss/lip color. Umm hi, that is fantastic. I keep this baby in my purse for all on the go needs. The eyeshadow colors are a fabulous neutral palette and I find stay on great when used with a good eye primer. (great gift idea here ladies). The glosses are nice as well, not sticky (my biggest pet peeve).

And voila, ready for a night out with the girlies.

I loved all of the products and would definitely recommend. They are also budget friendly. Makeup does NOT have to break the bank people, I assure you! And Lindsey I feel positive, agrees.

Ok, I had another post scheduled for today, but I have moved it to tomorrow because I know you want to hear of my morning brush with Karma.

Every morning I stop at the SAME gas station to get a 32 ounce diet coke, in a styrofoam cup.

It's my thing, let it go.

So I am waiting in line, in front of a Santa Clause look alike, who's chatting me up about how he thinks I have a red headed twin runnin' around in Florida… when I think to myself "PLL, WHAT the heck do you think is taking so long?"

Dumb and Dumber behind the counter are apparently having some issues with the register, and everything has shut down. I continue to wait TWENTY more minutes as people with actual cash pass me and drop dollars on the counter before leaving with their morning snacks.

I have no cash.

What is this cash?

Where do I get some?

I rely on my debit card for EVERYTHING, which clearly, needs to be assessed.

Even Santa leaves the line and pays for his slim jim and natty light, swear, but I guess I didn't remind him enough of his Floridian friend for him to spring a good deed and offer to pay for my 69 cent diet cocktail.

Bogus.

So I am getting pissed at this point, I know it isn't their fault but common, PLL gots places to be.

I decide to high tail it outta there, sans paying for my merchandise. I buy things from them EVERY morning, it's fine if this one tiny drink is on the house right? I'll just get them back tomorrow morning. That was my rational anyway.

So I walk out, with my contraband cocktail in hand, feeling quite jailbird-esque.

I kid you not, the second I climb into jeepie, some damn invisible Christmas elf hits my hand causing the diet coke to spill in ENTIRETY all over me, and my car. The entire thing. There were almost tears.

Fabulous. No diet coke. And there is ice in my pants.

And this my friends, is WHY I need a reality show. Tune in next time, for another episode of Blondetourage. That's definitely what I'd call it.

Moral of the story?

Karma is a beotch people. Don't steal diet coke.

It's a PinkLouLou Christmas- Holiday Party Edition

Ello lovelies!

This past weekend I had big sissies annual Christmas party. It is always amazing, complete with never ending glasses of pinot grigio, and more Christmas lights then Clark Griswold. I think I did a post last year on her holiday decorations... hmm yeah here it is.

Also just realized I pretty much wore my hair exactly the same two years in a row. FOR SHAME.

Oh well, why fix what ain't broken, capish?

A fancy sparkly dress is a Holiday party MUST.

Guess who got a new camera?! ME! Canon PowerShot Review

I honestly don't know a THING about photography, and I so wish I did. I look at all these other blogs with beautiful photography, and I see SO many of my friends who are so talented starting businesses of their own taking pictures.

Well friends. I am a point-and-shoot kinda girl. It's not that I don't want to know how to take phenomenal pictures, it's that I don't have the time to learn, or really try. Ha. You try being a single pug momma....

Anyways, on to the subject at hand. I have always been a Sony cybershot girl, by default really. They had a tiny pink camera, and I wanted it. So I got it. It took good pics, whatever, nothing I really paid attention to. I didn't even know how to turn the flash on for like 3 months. I kid you not.

This all changed when I got the new Canon ELPH 300 HS. I LOVE it.

Obsessed. It is the world's thinnest digital camera, with an ultra-wide angle lens and a 5x optical zoom. Also shoots HD video. HELLO hair tutorials, here we come!

The HS System is designed for shooting in low-light situations to reduce blurring, and help capture more brilliant, detailed images.

It is also super tiny, and it has a matte finish to it which is nice, so it doesn't slip out of my hands if I have had one too many cocktails, knowwhatimsayin?

I have really loved the pics I have been taking so far. They are SO much more clear than any of the ones I have taken with other cameras.

Right now, Canon is doing a project called Your Second Shot aimed at helping people recreate moments that didn't turn out right the first time. If I had to pick a moment that didn't turn out as perfect as I'd like it to, I would pick the photo of me and none other than, Miss Underwood.

While this was the hands down the COOLEST moment of my life, I had the darn camera on some funky setting, so the picture was blurry and the lighting was not the greatest. Sad story. At least I still GOT the photo, so I was a happy girl, BUT I wish I had had my elf camera back then!

Since I can't exactly go hunt Carrie down and make her take a re-do, HA, I had to get creative. So My 'second shot' would be ME, dressed as Carrie for Halloween. HA!

(However please note: Canon, if you would like to set up a re-do with me and Miss Underwood, I would be completely open to such an arrangement.) just sayin'. :)

As you can see, this picture is SO much more clear, and detailed.

Weekend Update, a tad late.

Wait what, it's Wednesday? How did that happen?

Anyhoo, last weekend my friend Catherine had a surprise 30th birthday party for her hubby.

How cute is this cake?

We had so much fun... here's come pics! PS how cute are my my friends? Esp my sissy and her cutey boyfriend Matt!

The next day we cheered on the CATS. And made some broccoli casserole. HA.

Then we had 'friends'giving at Brookes! SO much fun, there were like thirty of us there for dinner and drinks. I LOVE my friends, I am so so lucky!

Poof party's happened in the bathroom. Duh.

I had my hair up in a high bun, because I may or may not have had time to wash it between the CATS game, and Brookes. ;) literally did it in five minutes. I was actually quite pleased.

My Skincare Routine

Skincare is important. Duh.

And while I do not consider myself an expert by any means, I do pat myself on the back for proper, routine skin care.

Ladies, you have GOT to take care of your skin!

I am in my mid (ok that is a strech...) twenties these days and I swear I am starting to see wrinkles.

AHHHHHHHHH.

ok but seriously, I often get told I don't look a day over 22, HA, and I like to attribute that to the fact that I take care of my skin.

I started using the Mary Kay time wise skin set probably about 5 years ago, right out of college.

I have pretty normal skin, not too sensitive, and not too oily. So I use the normal to dry kind.

According to the website, "The timewise set provides incredible age-fighting results to help you maintain younger-looking skin. I use all of these daily, and I swear my favorite time of day (besides happy hour) is when I wash my face. It's like a chorus of angels singin' ;)

I use this about once a week, it is amazing. I feel like I just had a facial at one of those pirzzicey spas. I think I have blogged about this before... yep, here.

And I also am obsessed with the Restore and Recover Complex. You use it at night, to speed up collagen production, and help skin repair from damage of the day. It feels amazing, trust. Also just earned the Good Housekeeping seal.

ALONG with mu Mary Kay essentials, I use my clarisonic Mia daily. It helps take off 6x more makeup, minimizes pores, and helps prep your skin for better absorption of serums and creams.

and this next thing I WANT. I have noticed the skin around my eyes is changing. EEEK.

Timewise firming eye cream.

We need to firm up. Just... all over firm really.

So basically,

this is my deal.

I am sure you can spend hundreds more dollars out there, and there is ALWAYS going to be something new 'top of the line' that intrigues you, but this is what I have found that works for me. The key for me I think, is to moisturize. Keep that skin as soft as a baby heiney knowwhatimsayin? I am hoping that preventative care now while I am still young, ahem, will pay off in 10, and 20 years.

Well, I am back bishes!

Things got scary there for awhile, yes? But I LIIIIIVE!

Today, I give you peek into my posh lifestyle oui?

1. Bed in mom's room… Target. Simply Shabby Chic collection. Only sat in once. I prefer le couch.

2. My bowls. Yes, that is bling you see. Target, Shabby Chic.

3. My toy box. Just purchased at Home Goods. I can open it myself. I so damn smart.

4. My crate, complete with fluffy pink bedding and matching blankie. Also just purchased from Home Goods, ma treat after da bout with the doddy bubonic pleague.

Let's further discuss ma toys for a minute. My new favorites are the Martha Stewart collection from Pet Smart.

They make me so excited I run in circles.

First, we have Monsieur Skunk. He has crinkly stuff inside him that drives me bonkers.

and then there is Monsieur squirrel.

Took me three damn hours to get those out…

And then this guy… what is it? I don't know. BUT- he does make crazy noises when I throw him agains da wall. Take dat sucka.

I love them all so much, You should definitely ask Santa pug to bring you some.

Everyone was so happy I did not see da light in that incubator a few weeks ago, they shower me with gifts. Looksie what I have here...

They call it how you say, Bow Wow Bling? I can't wait for Christmas, to wear my candy cane collar charm. Oh and Cinco de Mayo, margarita pug coming your way!

Ello love bugs.

I finally feel like i can BREATH again!

Friday night I went to Cincinnati because my friends hubs had planned a surprise party for her "golden birthday" 11.11.11

We had SO much fun… per usual.

Happy Birthday Lindsey! And yes, her ring is OOC. ;)

Also, not sure if you NOTICED ;) but I did something very different for me with the hair. I was trying the ballerina bun look, a la Lauren Conrad.

While hers still puts mine to shame, I'd say I did alright for my first try. But I swear- it took me longer than it does when I wear my hair big and curly! I guess you just get use to certain things.

And yes, I absolutely have my extensions in. I just used two of my pieces and clipped them in at the top of my head before I put it in a pony tail. You shoulda seen me try to do it without ma fake hairs... I looked like a balding toddler.

Anyhoo. You would be surprised how many compliments from GUYS that I got. It was hysterical.

Saturday morning Sadie and I took a FOUR HOUR NAP.

I would be embarrassed, but it was amazing. I never get to do that. As you can see, upon waking, my ballerina bun was still somewhat in tact. HA ;)

Saturday night I went out with some friends and tried a messier short curl look.

I am sure you can't tell at all, but it is messier. I left the last inch of my hair outside of the curling iron, so it gave it an unfinished kinda of look. Success I say.

CMA 2011 Recap. Let's chat.

I may not have time to wash my hair (gasp!) but dammit I DO have time to watch and recap the CMA's!

In my humble opinion, CMA day should be a holiday. I mean, it is arguably one of my favorite nights of the year.

The girls and I had a CMA partay over at Jami's, where we consumed mass quantities of wine/beer/margaritas…. And perhaps equivalent amounts of queso and taco dip. Just sayin.

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley brought the laughs as they hosted their fourth year. I just adore them together, such great chemistry.

I got this text from my cousin right when the show started and I about died. HA, so sweet, love you Gin Gin!

Back to Carrie.

So my thoughts you ask?

Ok, let's get ONE thing straight here. We all know I love Carrie. I mean who doesn't seriously. The girl can do no wrong. Mind you, I still don't think she did WRONG, I just wasn't as 'WOWED' the entirety of the show like I usually am. Do you KNOW how much of an internal conflict I have been having trying to ADMIT this? ;) ha. Now let me tell you why…

She changed ten times throughout the show, standard. I thought she looked fabulous in everything, however I was slightly confused with the Broadway/Michael Jackson number. Just… confused. Also the green goddess-y dress wasn't my favorite. Let's take a look...

I LOVED her gold sequin number. Perfection. Just perfection.

I thought she looked super cute in her mini lavender dress. PS MIss Piggy is EVERYWHERE, she had a spread in InStyle for cryin' out loud!

And these SHOES. I must have them immed.

Her legs be smokin' and a shining per usual.

I also really liked this dress, I mean where would you wear it besides a country music award show, but I love the texture of the fabric and the color. Noooot so sure about that big bow. But again,
what do I know.

Now on to the performance.

Carrie and Brad sang Remind Me, their uber fab duet for the first time live on TV.

I hate to say it, but it was not my favorite performance.

SAD.

I thought the music was too loud for the vocals, and I think she struggled with the pitch at first. Also that camera angle, what the heck? She is a PHENOMENAL singer, always sounds spot on live, and this is the first time I have ever heard her sound less than perfect. And you KNOW this pains me to say out loud...

Check it out for yourself, you know I speak da truth when it comes to my girl ;)

She still rocked it, and her voice is seriously ridiculous it is so good.

I do have some thoughts on other attendees... shall we?

Oh. Muuuu gosh.

I always know I have taken WAYYY too much of a bloggy break when I start getting calls, tweets, texts wondering if I am alive.

Well children, I have just been busy with the J.O.B. I am so exhausted when I get home the last thing I want to do is look at a computer screen, and or be creative.

I have been looking at my blog planner tonight with umpteen things I could write about, but I have no energy, nor anything slightly intelligent to say.

So I'll just tell ya about da weekend in pictures yes?

Friday, Sadie Beezy and I went beck to the vet for some follow up blood work. goodbye $150 dollars. Good news, she is PERFECT!

I am absolutely not wearing frosty lip gloss, but Sadie most certainly is wearing a pink fur.

Friday night we had a baby shower for my friend Emily's second bambino. You may remember her from here. AND look what I got for Miss Lily, the big sis.

Ummmm precious. Target specialty. Now she can pretend to be Sophia Grace ;)

Saturday morning greeted me bright and early. I got up and went and did hair any makeup for a bloggy friend for her family pictures, then I came home to this lovely surprise.

Yeah. apparently my friends are still doing this.

It was actually quite refreshing.

Then came UK tailgating. Woop woop!

HOW CUTE IS LILY???

I am obsessed with this baby. And you would never know her mom is 6 months pregnant. Seriously I am 150% sure I weigh more than her.

Off to catch up on y'all's bloggys.

Perhaps I will get my life back in two weeks when all my work deadlines have been hit.

Until then, I will be investing in mass quantities of pinot grigio.

Operation Underwood.

This past weekend I was suppose to be in Columbus celebrating halloween with an assortment of fine ladies, but alas, I had to stay in town with Miss Sadie, since she was still in recovery. She is doing much better, by the way! :)

I was super bummed about missing Columbus, tears were involved- BUT I decided I would still make the best of it, and rock out my Halloween outfit.

My inspiration you ask?

BAM. This girl. And this performance to be exact.

I put the outfit together myself, and have the hot glue gun burns to prove it.

1. Necklace from Claires. Had to hot glue on some bling.

2. Shirt from Deb, also had to alter this baby to make it more corset like.

3. Replica ring from Susan B. I am pretty obsessed with this baby, and am more than likely going to wear it often.

4. Skirt also from Deb, I added satin ribbon to the skirt to give it that lacquered look.

And of course I added some pink extensions ;) You know this was my favorite part. Bwahahaha.

{Sorry girls, I have no idea where I got the boots, had them in my closet.}

The only thing I am really sad about not getting together was the blingin' microphone.

Le Sigh.

We can't all be perfect right?!?! I had a sick child, free time was not a luxury I had. So I grabbed this MTV one I found in my parents basement. Please, forgive me.

After the roomies and I got home, we proceeded to partay, and love on Sadie.

Saturday night I took it easy and met some friends at Harrys. For six hours.

Oh yeah, and Chrissy has a new admirer.

Ummm.... yeah we don't know him.

Sadie's blog post on her new swag coming tomorrow. Get excited.

It's been a rough 24 hours in the LouLou household.

1. Sadie sez "oh hai ma, check out ma pink band aids"

2. Sad doggy. Blanket-less kennel. Had to wash. You do da math.

3. Medicine and hair dryer.

4. The happy piggy after she had a bath and was dried with said hair dryer.

5. Being a BABY while being administered meds.

I must report, that I am so sad that I can't go to Columbus tonight to visit girlfriends Erin, Jess and Katie for Halloween.

Literally I am heartbroken.

I had to be a good momma and stay here with da pug child.

Le sigh.

Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE) in dogs.

Hey Ladies.

If you noticed I have been MIA, you are quite observant.

It has been a crazy few days. I haven't blogged about it or tweeted anything because honestly I wasn't sure what the outcome would be.

Miss Sadie Belle has been in doggy ICU since Tuesday evening. I came home from work to a normal spunky puppy. I put her food out and went on picking up the house, making dinner etc. when I noticed something wasn't right. I dropped a piece of mac and cheese on the floor and Sadie just looked at it. Didn't scarf it up like normal. OH NO, is what I thought. She has done this before, if she is not eating, something ain't right. Girlfrand LIVES to eat, just like her momma.

I immediately went over to her food bowl and noticed ALL of her food sitting there. Usually it is gone in 30 seconds, I kid you not. {I'll video it next time}. I looked at sweet girl and asked her what was wrong, expecting her to obviously tell me.

Then I noticed the couple piles of throw up, and some brown liquid on the floor. I took her outside so she could go potty. I'll spare you the details but she had some nasty poo. She just lay there. She wouldn’t move. Her tongue was hanging out of her mouth and was GREY, like white gray. I knew this was NOT good.

I called the vet and immediately took her in. The whole time in the car she just lay there wrapped up in a towel, barely breathing, and NOT moving.

Every now and then she must have gotten a sharp pain in her stomach because she would flinch really suddenly. I was so scared, and probably looked like a mad woman switchin' lanes like woah, trying to get to the vet, terrified my dog was on her death bed.

To make a long story short, she kind of was.

We sat in the vet, and I just held her like a baby. She didn't even protest.

They kept her overnight to run blood test and start her on an IV. The doctor immediately said she thought it was hemorrhagic gastroenteritis.

Say wahtsie?

Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis is the a sudden onset episode of diarrhea, often bloody in nature, also characterized by vomiting, not eating, and listlessness, all seen in a previously healthy dog. Shock can develop quickly, due to loss of blood in the intestines. The cause of the disease is unknown, but is believed to be caused by a bacterial infection , a toxin, or a parasite, but none of these are proven. It is mainly seen in miniature breeds of dogs, ages 2-4. Left untreated, it can be fatal. However with prompt medical care, and aggressive treatment, 90 % of dogs recover fully.

So I am pretty much beside myself at this point. All I could do was trust that she was int he best place she could be at the time. They started her on antibiotics and IV fluids to help with the dehydration. Her grey tongue was evidence to the shock response her body was showing. Her temperature dropped to 90 degrees (normal should be about 100). They put her in an incubator, and wrapped her in warm towels.

The vet called again at midnight, and I could tell in her voice she was worried. She said Sadie was not doing well, and even in the incubator, her body temperature was barely above 91. She called in a tech to monitor Sadie through the night, assuring me she would call if anything changed. Of course at this point I just LOST it. Puffy eyes, sobbing, snotty nose, ya. The epitome of ugly cry. I didn't sleep all night and just stared at my phone, hoping no news, was good news.

I called promptly at 8 am to check on her, and was transferred to like three different people. Of course I am crying again because I think they are passing me off because no one wants to tell me Sadie didn't make it through the night.

Finally the Dr. got on the phone, and told me she was doing a little better, her temp was up to 94, but she was still losing a lot of blood. Not good. The kept her again all day and night, and I finally got another call in the evening saying her temp was back up, and she was regulating it on her own. She was still being administered antibiotics through her IV, but she was doing a LOT better. Lifting up her head, watching other animals etc, and responding to voices.

She made it through last night again, and is doing MUCH better today. They are checking her blood work again this morning, and if all goes well she can come home tonight.

The point of this long winded dissertation, is to hopefully make all of you doggy owners AWARE of this disease. It can happen SO fast which is what is so scary. I literally noticed a change in Sadie in thirty minutes. I am so glad I noticed that something was really not right, and had the sense to take her to the vet immediately. So many times our dogs will get sick and we will pass it off as nothing. I think the key here is knowing your dog, and what is normal for your little pup. I tend to sit on the "you can't be too careful" side of the fence, especially because Sadie can be dramatic. Remember the tummy tuck of this past spring anyone? Ya. Sister costs a lot of moolah Imjustsayin.

I had such a sweet group of support through this whole thing.

My roommates were just as upset and worried as I was. Brian loves Sadie, and was so cute just sitting outside with her before we left for the vet. Chrissy called me every couple hours from the hospital where she works to check on her, also calling her sister (who works for a vet) with updates and to get advice.

My Dr. Daddy went over to the vet to check on Sadie as soon as I called him hysterical. I think he was less than impressed with my lack of medical speak, so he went to get the info himself. Haha.

My co-workers checked in every couple of hours.

My bloggy friends were so sweet.

Lady Tallulah Belle, and Sir Chauncy held a candlelight vigil for Sadie.

DON lit her animal candle and said prayers. <3

Even Lucy the Diva showed her support, refusing to come out of hiding until Sadie came home from hospital.

I had tons of other friends call and text about Miss Sadie's status. She is such a little part of all of our lives! That little snort face sure is loved!

SO..... sorry for the LOONG post. But I just needed to make sure all of you pup momma's out there were aware of this hemorrhagic gastroenteritis thingy-ma-jig. Scary stuff.

I can't wait to see the little baby girl. She is gonna be SO much more spoiled now than she already is!

My new stationary, and a fab photoshop-like tool!

Hola Senoritas.

Guess what came in today. My new stationary.

YESSS.

I designed them myself, and then had them printed by Vista Print, for like $30! They came super fast too.

A lot of you have asked recently what I use to write on my pics, how I design my blog etc. Most everything I do (including invites) I made in Indesign, which I use a lot for work, but am fortunate to also have at home (Thanks Aunt Lucy!!). I graduated with a degree in communications, but now work in print production, and do a LOT of our graphic design. I absolutely love it. I am SUCH a nerd at heart, and have taught myself almost everything through my handy pal google. HA! You would be surprised how much you can learn from just looking it up... it's all out there, tutorials for days.

I work in the whole Adobe suite, using different programs for different things.

I got my signature font which you will see in all my pictures from this fab site I am sure you have heard of, Kevin and Amanda.

She has the BEST fonts. Just install on your computer, and you are good to go!

See... then I can just write until my little heart is content. Ha ha.

The Adobe programs are pretty pricey, so if you don't have access to them, don't you panic. There are tons of online photo editing sites out there. I made it my mission to find y'all the best one, and my favorite that I have found is Piklr editor. It highly mimics Photoshop, and you can easily have tons of the same perks!

I definitely recommend just getting in there and playing around with it. Also, there is a section of this site with frequently asked questions, and tutorials!

Long week. Could NOT be happier it is Friday.

We have girls night every Thursday (usually about 10-12 of us!) and last night just so happened to be my friend Nicole's birthday. Woop woop!

Good times as always.

So yesterday we discussed organization 'n such. A lot of you asked about my vanity, so I figured I would go on the hunt and find you girls one.

I got mine in college so that would have been... awhile ago. I couldn't afford my dream one at the time, from Pottery Barn (which I still want, by the way)

So I settled for Le Target.

I love Target, really I do.

They don't have my exact one anymore, but I did find you girls several similar options, with a much kinder price tag. (images will take you to website)

Precious right? I mean, they will do the job.

Also, this morning on People this popped up and I said to myself, I said "LouLou, you must master this hair style"

So that is what I am doing this weekend, what about you?

Gettin' Organized

Nothing makes me happier than being organized. Awhile back when I asked y'all what you wanted to see, several people asked about how I stay so organized.

Well let me show you children

I get ready at my little vanity in my bedroom. I keep all the hair essentials in this little cabinet. I think my sis got it somewhere on the cheap, so I stole it from her. Works perfectly.

Then there are the jewels. I keep the good stuff in a jewelry box on my dresser, and also throw things I wear often on this litte dress thingymabob.

How cute is she seriously?

Then there is makeup and nail polish. I found this caboodles tray at target for ma polish and all things nails. Works perfectly cause you can see what you have, and you don't have to dig in a bag or something. But also, you can store it away in a hall closet so you don't have to see it.

Again, I like to see what I have, so this little guy is perfect for my makeup that I don't carry with my in my purse. I use this stuff daily, but don't need it on my person 24/7. It's quick and easy, and also comes from Target.

And moving right along...

Y'all, I have 7 weaves.

SEVEN!

Swear. I have long curls, short curls, front braid pieces, updo pieces, the bump it up, the pony tail, and last but not least my little messy bun thingy.

Girls that's a lot of faux hair. We gots to keep it in check, knowwhat Im sayin?

Luckily, I found the best little organizers at TJMaxx. Not only did I find one for all of my hairz, but I found one for all my costume-y jewelry. It's two sided, and it is amaze. I love that you can SEE it all... notice a pattern here? If I can't see it, I forget I have it.

oh hey sidenote, check out my this little fun hairdo I whipped up. It's a faux braid (aka a twist), but just a little one, and I made it poofy.

Girls.

All joking aside, I was introduced to a fab little teasing brush that you need to know about.

Umm. I'm Obsessed. Sweet little Sarah sent it to me in the mail. All wrapped up perfectly.

HOW did I not have this before? I feel like I have been living a life of poof mediocracy.

I needed a quick ponytail this morning, and with this little guy I was able to do this in two seconds as I was running out the door. Something about it creates a fab poof without a lot of work.

Go get ya one.

Iiiiiin other news, This weekend I participated in Race for the Cure with my Jami, we had so much fun!

Loved seeing all the pink everywhere, obv. Afterwards we headed to Ramsey's for breakfast and cocktails

Post morning happy hour, I had to kick it into gear and get ready for a wedding in FORTY MINUTES.

No small feat, but somehow I pulled it off. And I am happy to announce, I do believe this was my last wedding of 2011.

Shew. What a season.
